Medium Hoofjack® Hoofstand

Medium Hoofjack® Hoofstand

Testimonials

Early in my career I recognized the benefit of a hoof stand. To this day, it surprises me how many farriers still do not use one. For me, a hoof stand is one of the most essential tools I have to use as it eliminates a lot of wear and tear on my body.
When the Hoofjack entered the market, I also recognized early the benefit of this hoof stand. I’ve always had a problem with hoof stands made of steel and aluminum. Occasionally when one of these hoof stands goes shooting out from under foot, it...

I recently purchased a standard horse size Hoofjack. I’ve been using a simple hoof stand made from a farm disk blade for over 20 years. I trimmed several of my own horses many years ago and attempted to resume that task over the past few months. My physical ability is not what it once was and it’s quite difficult for me to hold a hoof these days. I saw the Hoofjack advertised on RFDTV and decided to give it a try. I watched the video provided with the Hoofjack and found it most informative. Then I proceeded to try it out on my rather nervous mare who never much cared for the old hoof stand. Well, to say the least the Hoofstand made a huge difference for my nervous mare and me alike. My mare was calmer and seemed to not mind leaving her foot in the Hoofjack even when I would walk away for several moments. This is a wonderful tool and I recommend it for anyone handling horses. Even if you just clean the hooves, it’s of great benefit. It’s very light weight and I plan to keep it in the horse trailer when I travel. It’s also made int he U.S.A.!!!!!

I started learning how to shoe horses in 1957 from Pete Beckman, he always said never use a hoof stand!
He had shod countless horses at that time.I saw him about 20 years later and he was still shoeing horses but he was using a hoof stand,I asked him why and he explained he had had a hip replacement and said “You need to save yourself wherever you can”!

We run a last resort facility, SW FL Rescue, DBA: Horse Crossing Rescue/Sanctuary. http://www.horsecrossingrescue.com Basically, it is a sanctuary for Mustangs and other badly abused horses. 85% of what we do, is groundwork, play and interaction. We teach people the horses’ language and how it is about the horse, instead of the human.

Being about the horse is where Hoofjack comes in. We have had our Hoofjack for about two years, now. From the horse it took over a year to be able to halter and brush, to the ones born on the property, Hoofjack has kept us safe and kept the horses comfortable. There were many times when we would have been thrown into next week without Hoofjack. The video that came with it was informative and helpful.

The ease in which you are able to adjust the stand, the lightness of it and how well it has stood the ‘test of time’ has us highly recommending it. We take it to different fields, pass it around; many people use it, from the experienced to the ‘newbies’. Before Hoofjack, I had tried several other stands and found them heavy, hard to adjust, and I hated having to trim hoofs. I turn 60 this year and at 5’2, 115, am able to do a barefoot trim on all the horses with the help of Hoofjack. Thank you.

      Linda–
Your testimonial is just what I needed to read. I’m not quite 5’0″ and several years past joining the “half century club.” Looks like I’ll be giving Hoofjack a try!

Annette, I use Hoofjack every day, now. The horses put their foot in it so we can clean their feet. (It is good training for trimming.) Also, with a barefoot trim, we file every week. Takes about 5 minutes a horse and stretches the time between trimmings! Would not do it, if Hoofjack hadn’t made it so easy!
